Smoothies To Cool & Refresh You!

Fruit & Carrot Smoothie
(Serves 2 to 4)

Ingredients:
•  2 apples, quartered
•  1 banana, cut into fourths
•  2 kiwi, peeled
•  1/2 cup plain fat-free yogurt
•  1/4 cup powdered soy protein concentrate
•  1/4 cup ground flax seed
•  1/2 teaspoon sugar substitute
•  1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
•  3/4 cup ice cubes
•  2 carrots, chunked
•  1/2-1 cup pineapple juice
•  1/2-1 cup carrot juice

Directions:
Place all ingredients into a blender in the order listed. Run on high for approximately 2 minutes until smooth.

 



Blueberry Smoothie
(Serves 2)

Ingredients:

•  1 frozen banana, thawed for 10 to 15 minutes
•  1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
•  1 cup vanilla fat-free yogurt
•  1 1/2 teaspoons flax seed meal
•  1 1/2 teaspoons honey  or sugar substitute
•  2/3 cup frozen blueberries

Directions:
Cut banana into small pieces and place into the bowl of a blender. Add the soy milk, yogurt, flax seed meal, and honey. Blend on lowest speed until smooth, about 5 seconds. Gradually add the blueberries while continuing to blend on low. Once the blueberries have been incorporated, increase speed, and blend to desired consistency. Top with whole blueberries and a mint garnish if desired.

 

Mango Pineapple Smoothie
(Serves 2)

Ingredients:
•  2 cups fresh pineapple
•  2 mangos, peeled and sliced
•  20 ice cubes

Directions:
Place all of the ingredients into a blender. Blend on high until the ice is cut up thoroughly. Serve immediately in a tall glass.

 

 

 










Strawberry Melon Yogurt Smoothie
(Serves 2-4)

Ingredients:
•  1/2 large and ripe honeydew melon
•  1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
•  1 cup plain non-fat yogurt
•  2 tsp stevia or 4 tablespoons honey
•  20 ice cubes

Place all of the fresh ingredients closest to the blade with the frozen ingredients on top. Blend until smooth.

 






Kiwi Pear Smoothie
(Serves 2)

Ingredients:
•  4 ounces plain, non-fat yogurt
•  1/2 cup pear, peeled and diced
•  1 banana, peeled and chunked
•  2 tbs. honey or 1 tsp. sugar substitute
•  1 cup ice cubes
•  3 kiwi fruits, peeled

Directions:
Combine yogurt, pears, banana, kiwi and honey in a blender. Pulse until  blended. Add ice cubes and process until smooth.
