During medical school, Dr. Corle started exploring his options for a specialty, but never dreamed he would specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. “When I started medical school I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but I was sure I didn’t want to be an obstetrician” he explains. During medical school, Dr. Corle started exploring his options for a specialty, but never dreamed he would specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. “When I started medical school I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but I was sure I didn’t want to be an obstetrician” he explains. So what changed his mind?

Native Kansan, Aldon E. Corle, Jr., MD was born and raised in Independence, Kansas. It was there, while attending high school, that he met Tiffany, now his wife of almost 13 years. They have two young daughters, Alexis and her younger sister, Zoe. The Corle family attends services and other activities at Central Christian Church in Wichita, where they also spend time volunteering as part of various programs the church offers. Although, most of Dr. Corle’s spare time is devoted to his family and church, when time allows, he also enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening and reading.

Dr. Corle attended Kansas University, where he received his Bachelors in Chemistry. He went on to earn his medical degree from Kansas University School of Medicine. In June 2010, Dr. Corle completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wesley, through KU Medical Center—Wichita.

When asked why he chose to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he said, “It is funny you ask that, because when I started medical school I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but I was sure I didn’t want to be an Obstetrician. It wasn’t until my third year of medical school, during our clinical clerkships, that I found myself drawn to OB/GYN as a specialty. I didn’t mind the long hours or unpredictable schedule. And, although I continued doing elective clerkships during my fourth year of medical school, it was at that time I decided this would be the specialty for me.” He went on to tell us what finally drew him to Obstetrics and Gynecology, saying, “I enjoy the mixture of medicine and surgery that Obstetrics and Gynecology provides. I also enjoy the relationships I form with families as they allow me to take part in one of the most important moments of their life.”

Dr. Corle always knew that he wanted to practice in Kansas because he and his wife had decided it was a great place to raise a family. “I chose to practice in Wichita because of the strong medical community within the city and because I enjoy working with the medical students and residents at KU Medical Center—Wichita. I like how working with the residents keeps me abreast of current training, technology and the latest procedures in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Also, my wife and I knew Wichita would be a great place to live.

In July, 2010, Dr. Corle joined the practice at Mid-Kansas Women’s Center, PA, because he felt the group and he shared common beliefs, values and ideas, and because he and his wife wanted to live in Wichita to be near their extended families. He loves what he is doing, and plans to complete his board certification and establish a lifelong practice here in the Wichita community.
